Because this was the scene at the back of our house this morning...
We'd rented a garbage bin for the last of the construction garbage leftover from fixing the first floor and some guys set it on fire. It was sitting in our parking space behind the house.
The firemen came (I tried to talk Cynthia into introducing herself) ...
And they put the fire out...
And now we're all awake - well before our normal wake up time. Apparently, another fire was set down the laneway, only 10 minutes or so after ours and there have been multiple arsons (mostly garage fires) over the last few months in our neighbourhood. The police say that they have a suspect and they're following any leads and collecting evidence.

Ditto that; it's good that nobody was hurt; that's no small fire.
Garbage fires sounds like it's more likely kids having "fun" than a hardcore arsonist (although I don't know).
Of all the stupid things that people do for kicks, setting stuff on fire is RIGHT up there.
