Meredith and Doug are Hitched!

Last weekend, Rob and I were very fortunate to be able attend the very celebratory, post-ceremony party in honour of the marriage of Douglas Moffat to Meredith Carruthers. It was a smash-hit of an event, held at Lili and Olli Café in Montreal. The wine poured and the super-successful owner of the café prepared cup after cup of cappuccino, café au lait, teas, and espresso.

The café was decorated with white tablecloths, lighted white pumpkins, and vases full of Chinese lantern plants from the bride’s garden and hypericum berries. The tables were piled with delicacies from Atwater Market, including arrangements of breads and cheeses, bowls of almonds and other nuts, plates of olives and crudite, and baskets of assorted fruits. But the dessert table – if I do say so myself, it was full!

Megan’s sister and I made caramel apples, enough for 2 per guest. Mrs. Carruthers (Anne) served light and fluffy meringues, stacked high on a plate and topped with tiny lovebirds. Also served was a two-tier white wedding cake as well as a chocolate glazed cake (that I sadly missed out on). Meredith and Doug also offered their guests gold embossed boxes with treats inside to take home.

The small café was warmed with candles and the 40 or so friends and family. The weather was cold and very very wet outside which in contrast, made the event feel like the haven no one wanted to leave.

Rob and I had a great time in Montreal – wandering the streets and doing some shopping as well as lounging in our well hosted B&B.

Thanks for a lovely time guys – and Congratulations!

Talk to you soon,

B.

Good job Kern.

Oh, and the actual content of my post is to mention to Becky that her link to Kristin's 'blog is wrong (I think you either forgot the last two letters in her name or the word between her name and her location... I think it's likely the latter)

Fixed the link.
Thanks Kevin!
