A blog that I read regularly has been doing a future search for the perfect sweater. If you're reading this, it's possible that you got linked to me from there (woo hoo! I got mentioned on masondixonknitting.com!).
I think I told a few people about it already. In case you haven't yet heard about it from me -- Future Search is a method that was developed to help arrive at a consensus decision. I LOVE consensus decision. It's not always useful or appropriate for particular situations but I think it's got some essentially good ideas at the core. So, in all her sillyness -- Ann over at Mason Dixon Knitting decided to do a Future Search for the Perfect Handknit. We've been really slowly trudging away through decision after decision voting as we go. In some cases we got over 300 votes. Pretty crazy, huh? So, the Future Search is almost done. I think mostly because the knitters are getting a little bored with the process. And also because it's really hard to get a group of 300 knitters to agree on the perfect sweater without losing most of them to the bar. So as a group we selected Cascade 220 as the perfect yarn and we're going to knit a cardigan sweater with long sleeves that are set in, and has various necklines.
And why am I talking about all of this? Because I volunteered to find us some discount yarn! That's how I got the mention on the Mason Dixon Knitting blog. I figured that I don't yet have any design talents but I don't mind putting out some feelers for some cheap yarn! If you have any leads for me, leave a comment.
I'm also going to be doing some baking this week. It's Grandpa Randy's 80th birthday. Time to pull out some squares and baked good. Any suggestions are welcome. I'll let you know how it goes.
Ok, gotta get to work hunting down some yarn.
Talk to you soon,
