Well, after giving it a good deal of thought today, I decided to edit my post from yesterday. It did take some convincing though. I think Joanna made the argument that persuaded me the best. I was kind of looking at it as wanting to be completely open in this forum, as I would in life. I mean, I don't agree with the idea of portraying to those around you that your house is always clean, that you never argue with your spouse, and that you are always perfectly happy. So it seemed to me to be natural to talk about my bad day. I also figured that the odds of the person I was offending reading the blog were quite low.
On the other hand, I also try not to say things behind people's back. I wouldn't want to say something about someone when they were absent from the conversation than I wouldn't say if they were present. I have to admit, although I do try, I'm not always so honorable. I like to vent. But perhaps, at the very least, I can be open while still sticking to my "rule" about not speaking about people behind their back. Which is, after all, what griping about the boss is.
So, I edited my post. And will be a bit more careful from now on.
And, I changed the comments section so that you don't have to have a blog to leave a comment. I meant for it to be that way all along but forget to change the settings. So, Comment Away!
Tonight, Rob and I met Karen for dinner and lots of chatting. I think I did most of the chatting. :) We figured we should grab some time with Karen before she has to "go back to school". Very fun!
Talk to you soon,
B.

Do a search on the word "dooce" and then check out www.dooce.com
This conversation just came up on my 'Blog. Basically this woman ("dooce" is her nickname") wrote all sorts of stuff on her blog about her job and some of her coworkers. Never used their real names, never said what company she worked for, never revealed company secrets.
They still fired her.
That was back in 2001. It's happened to others since then.
Now the word "dooce" is used as a verb meaning 'to be fired because of things you posted on the internet' (or maybe more specifically, 'things you wrote in your personal blog').
Just a cautionary tale about the perils of excessive openness in this forum.
That's my girl. You have such a kind heart my dear!! Have no idea who you take after. But figure that who ever raised you should be very proud of their accomplishment. HA HA!! Although it would be more fun to hear about you & Rob fighting. Guess who's side I would take.
Well, I did say that I won't talk about work too much but I never did say that I won't talk about Rob and I fighting. :)
