And in other news

The trailer for "The Time Traveler's Wife" is available now on YouTube. You could go check it out. I did. It was awful.

For those of you who don't know, The Time Traveler's Wife is the book that Rob and I read together on our honeymoon. I loved it - thought it was one of the best I'd ever read. It was then that Rob said to me that if we ever had a daughter, her name should be Clare. And now we have our Clare! That's how much we liked that book!

I think I posted about this a while back now (I wish I knew how to link to that post). That they'd cast Rachel McAdams as Clare and Eric Bana as Henry. I was already kind of disappointed, worried that they were going to ruin one of my favorite books.

That trailer has sealed the deal. I just don't think I can watch the movie. I just makes me feel sad that what I loved so much about the story seems to be missing in the movie.

I wonder though, if I re-read the book now, if even on the 2nd reading it would hold the same magic for me or if I've just built it up into something it isn't. Damn!

Talk to you soon,

B.

that's sad. although i didn't really have high hopes for the movie either. i have reread parts of the books several times. grabbing when i headed for the bathroom or bath and i wasn't already reading some other novel. just as good. although i guess i am an notorious rereader.

Most of the time movies are never as good as the book. They only one I have heard of is My Sister's Keeper. I am reading it now and hopefully will see the movie when I'm done.
You are right though The Time Travellers Wife was wonderful to read.

the book is almost always better than the movie. In this case it will almost be impossible to be 'as good as the book' because the book was SO good. i'm still looking forward to it though...i'm not sold on Eric Bana but i do think Rachel McAdams will do a good job.
