Presents!

Some presents arrived this week. Woo hoo! Both of the presents are sort of for Bean but given that Bean won't really care about any of this, they are really presents for Rob and I. The first is the highchair we ordered in Rochester that was delivered to us via Caroline and her parents. The second is the crib bedding set that I also ordered. I found BabyLovin.com through Etsy and contacted Jen about having a set custom made for us. We chose and ordered the fabric from Purl Soho.

Here are a few fun pictures (click on any of them to make them larger) -

This is a picture of the crib bedding set. On the left is the crib skirt (aqua). The middle piece is a crib blanket, the reverse of which is red fabric that matches the ties on the bumpers which is the piece on the right.

Here's a close-up shot of the set so you can see the colours and the ties a little better.

Here's a close-up of the blanket and bumper fabric so you can see the pattern. I didn't take a close-up shot of the skirt fabric; it's a subtle polka dot pattern. All of the fabric is really good quality and the quality of the finished product is excellent too. I'm so happy with how it turned out and so happy that Bean could have something handmade (on top of all the handmade things that will be gifts from other family and friends, of course) even if I couldn't make it myself.

Here's a pic of the highchair still in the box. Some assembly is required. Since we don't actually need a chair for many months, I think I'll leave it in the box for a little while. But at least you can see the stain colour we picked.

Talk to you soon,

B.

I have removed the bumpers from Adam's crib. NY Times article This was by no means the first thing I read to the effect that bumpers are more harm than good but I've finally bought in.
