Jen and Geoff are getting married today -- and I'm making they're wedding cake! It's almost done. Can you believe it? It's not due to be delivered until 4 pm today and I'm almost done already! Crazy. I've been getting pretty fast at cake making. Plus this cake is normal sized. Not like the behemoth I made for Kevin and Su. I'll put pictures up later. I try to learn a new thing every time I make a cake. This time I finally learned how to fill the layers with buttercream properly. I've seen pictures of it 100 times and yet, somehow I just ignored all the advice from books and tried it my own way. This time I did it EXACTLY as I was told and it worked amazingly well. Funny that! The other thing I learned this cake was getting the sides of the cake smooth. I tried reordering the way I normally do it and I stirred the buttercream longer than I normally do and it turned out really well.
Knitting has taken a bit of a hit this last few days. I only had time to knit on the subway. And of course, I've been knitting my One Skein Wonder instead of Christmas presents. Yikes!
Rob and I went to check out a really cute house this week. It was a small 2+ bedroom, 2-story, with a basement aparment. It cost $378,000. The verdict is in -- Rob and I still can't afford a house in Toronto. We'll revisit the topic in another 6 - 12 months.
Talk to you soon,
B

Of course once again, St.Catharines would give you tons of proper on the water for that amount of money.
Sorry that should have said property. You could buy this house for 250,000.
but then you'd have to live in St.Catharines.
The cake lots great - once again. See you on the weekend.
