Who Would Have Thought

On Saturday my brother called to tell me (excitedly) that he had, on the previous evening, layed-out for a disc in the endzone for a touchdown. He says "touchdown", I say "point". Regardless, he only started playing about a month and a half ago. What a guy! And then there's my step-dad. Ronnie rode the RONA ride for MS on Sunday: 75 km in about 3 hours. Now there's somethin'! I, on the otherhand, was unable to beat Dan to the cone last night and so swallowed my shame with some Baskin Robbins. Dan thinks the 31 Flavours might be what's preventing me from beating him. I think the day I beat Dan in a footrace is the day he's been fitted with a walker.

Karen and Ann and I went to see Dream in High Park tonight. It's a bit of a misnomer because they aren't playing Midsummer's Night Dream this year. It was Much Ado About Nothing. A great performance really. I liked their staging of it. Canstage always does a great job. I think though, it's perhaps not my favorite Shakespearean play. A little too goofy I think. I find it kind of painful to watch people fumbling about through a long series of misunderstandings and accidental overheard partial conversations. As Ann so astutely pointed out, it's like watching "Three's Company". Interestingly though, I actually used to like "Three's Company".

Talk to you soon,

B.
